Dear Parents and Students,
I hope this letter finds you healthy and safe. First of all, I want to say thank you for your continued support of the studio and our teachers. We are delighted to be able to teach our students in person again this September.
I am writing to let you know about our protocols for September. As we continue to consider the orders of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, and the alert system, we realize that how we do business had to change.
The measures that will be employed to ensure a safe return the studio include:
Physical distancing: music rooms now only contain a piano to allow for maximum space between teacher and student
We are also asking everyone who enters to wear a non medical mask, as per the guidelines given to us by public health.
Physical barriers: we have plexiglass dividers that are movable within the room between the teacher and student, (most effective for singing students.)
Increased cleaning: plexiglass, pianos, high touch surfaces will be sanitized/disinfected before entry of new student
Waiting room closure: Our waiting room will be closed to parents and students. For this reason it is essential that you be on time for your lessons and that parents will be present in the parking lot for pick up immediately following the lesson
Hygiene: students and teachers will be expected to wash their hands before and after lessons. We have installed three more hand sanitizing stations within the studio for a total of four.
Air Purifiers: We have placed new air purifiers in each of our rooms to improve the air quality in each room.
We realize that there may be parents and students who remain concerned about entering the studio so we will continue to offer online lessons if you would prefer to do that. All teachers have been involved in the development of these plans and are willing and able to teach either online or in person starting in September.
Thank you so much
Michelle
